Sinharaja Prantha Āranya Sēnāsanaya is a unique Buddhist Cave Forest Monastery, located in Sinharaja Rainforest, which is a World Heritage site in Sri Lanka. This forest monastery of historical significance is located at the end of Rakwana South village in Godakawela Divisional Secretariat in Ratnapura District. This hermitage is on the foothills of Bulutota Mountain range in Sinharaja Forest and it is in a densely foggy environment with heavy annual rainfall. This forest is enriched with natural habitat and a conducive atmosphere for the monks to meditate and practice dhamma in a serene environment.

Sinharaja forest monastery was established in1961.  It has also been conducting a Pirivena (Buddhist Dhamma school for Bhikkhus) named Sri Rohana Wanawasi Pirivena since 2010. This prestigious Pirivena was rewarded several times for producing generations of disciplined, virtuous, and intelligent monks.

Today, there are about 55 monks living in this Senasuna.

Cooking facilities and lodging rooms are available for devotees who want to stay overnight in the monastery to prepare meals (Dāna).
